The History of Québec and Canada course is based on the following guiding principles : the course sets forth learning objectives which have been selected and organized around the turning points in Québec and Canadian history; the course seeks to convey a global perspective of history; the course recognizes the diversified nature of Québec history by emphasizing the contributions of all groups to the collective past; the course seeks to develop the pupil’s ability to interpret historical events objectively; the course makes possible an instructional approach which is centred around understanding of events in the milieu.
