Minister responsible for the Côte-Nord region
Yves Bolduc holds advanced degrees in medicine, public administration and bioethics.
He has worked as a general practitioner, emergency physician, director of professional services, professor and lecturer. For almost 30 years, he has served in many organizations and on a number of executive boards in the areas of hospital administration, economics and sports. He has also been on the boards of directors of the Jeux du Québec and the Alma chamber of commerce, a member of the ethics committee of the Conseil de la santé et du bien-être, and the President of the Association des conseils des médecins, dentistes et pharmaciens du Québec.
Mr. Bolduc was first elected in 2008 as the Member of the National Assembly for the riding of Jean-Talon. Eager to improve access to health care services, he was named Minister of Health and Social Services that same year. In addition, he has served as Minister responsible for the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region, and then as Minister responsible for the Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine and Bas-Saint-Laurent regions.
Mr. Bolduc was re-elected on April 7, 2014, and currently holds the positions of Minister of Education, Recreation and Sports; Minister of Higher Education, Research and Science; and Minister responsible for the Côte-Nord region.
