Marie-Claude Champoux has a B.A. with a major in public communications and journalism, and a minor in psychology and communications research. She began her career in political communications, working at the National Assembly and in the offices of various ministers until 2005, when she became the premier’s press secretary.
For Mme. Champoux, this is a return to the Ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport, because she held the position of Chief of Staff from 2003 to 2004, and of Assistant Deputy Minister, Secteur de l’information, des communications et l’administration, from 2005 to 2009. She continued her career at the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux, where she was Assistant Deputy Minister from 2009 to 2010. After that, she was Deputy Minister of Immigration and Cultural Communities, from 2010 to 2012. At the time of her appointment, she was interim president and director general of the Commission des normes du travail.
