Language Assistants Program
In collaboration with its international partners, the Ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport du Québec is offering students at Québec universities positions as French language assistants in the United Kingdom, Germany and Mexico. Language assistants help second-language teachers, primarily French language teachers, in elementary and secondary schools or, sometimes, in colleges and universities. Placements are for eight or nine months (September 1 or October 1 to May 31 of the following year), depending on the host country. A monthly allowance, the exact amount of which is set by the host country and reviewed annually, is paid to the assistant by the host institution.

You have completed your studies and would like to participate in the Language Assistants Program but, in doing so, you will not be able to repay your student loan debt? You may be eligible for the Deferred Payment Plan, which allows you to defer for 6 to 24 months the payments that should normally be made once you stop being a student.
In collaboration with its international partners, the Ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport du Québec also offers Québec educational institutions the opportunity to host language assistants from the United Kingdom, Germany or Mexico. The language assistant’s role is to help English language teachers by leading oral communication activities that complement the English as a second language program, making it easier for students to learn.
