2012-2013 Recognition Awards
For the eighth consecutive year, the Ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport (MELS) would like to recognize people who have been effective in promoting reading to young people and helping them develop reading skills and the habit of reading.
As part of this initiative, various prizes will be awarded at the regional and provincial levels. All educators are invited to submit projects that have been carried out with students at the preschool, elementary and secondary levels and in vocational training as well as students in adult general education who are between 16 and 18 years of age.
First, the MELS regional offices will evaluate the projects submitted, and award regional prizes for the most meaningful projects with the most enduring impact.
Then, each MELS regional office will submit all projects received to the provincial level by no later than April 12, 2013. The projects will then be evaluated. The provincial winners will be invited to an awards ceremony that will take place on May 15, 2013, at the Grande Bibliothèque de BAnQ in order to highlight the contribution of exceptional projects and to ensure that their influence is felt throughout the Québec school system.
