Complaints about services at a school, centre or school board

If you are dissatisfied with the services that your school board has, or should have, provided, you must contact the authorities at the board itself. All school boards have a complaints process in place.

Student ombudsman

The school board’s complaints process must allow people who are dissatisfied with how their complaint was handled or its outcome to contact the person designated as student ombudsman.

Within 30 days following receipt of the complainant’s request, the student ombudsman must submit his or her opinion on whether the complaint is well-founded and, if applicable, what he or she believes to the appropriate corrective actions to be taken.
