This Web site allows various users in the education system access to the
Directory of Semiskilled Trades offered as part of the Work-Oriented Training Path of the youth sector and the Sociovocational Integration Services program of the adult education sector. Each description form in the Directory comprises a set of elements defining the semiskilled trade in question, in particular the related competencies and tasks. As this is a preliminary version that has not yet been linguistically revised, we ask readers to bear with us at this stage in the development of the Directory.
The Directory was developed jointly by the Direction de la formation générale des jeunes, the Direction de la formation générale des adultes and the Direction de la formation professionnelle et technique, in collaboration with a team of teachers and professionals from these three sectors of education. In the coming months, various partners of the workforce sectoral committees concerned will validate the content of the Directory to ensure that young people and adults receive training that is both diversified and adapted to the current job market.
This Directory will be used in the youth sector as part of the Work Skills and the Preparation for a Semiskilled Tradeprograms. These programs, respectively associated with Prework Training and Training for a Semiskilled Trade, are intended for students in Secondary Cycle Two in the Work-Oriented Training Path.
It will also be used in adult general education as part of the Sociovocational Integration Services program, which leads to two types of certification: a training certificate in sociovocational integration or a training certificate for a semiskilled trade.
Updating the Directory
With the participation of partners in the education community and the workplace, the Ministère will ensure that the Directory is kept up to date as semiskilled trades are added and deleted.
